Cause it feels terrifically normal being in England, driving on the left side of the road, having some fantastic chinese food, chatting with some friends or simply watching english television.
I always worry about my english. While my hubbies english is pretty perfect, I always make mistakes.
But it seems that I'm simply too hard with myself.
There was this man in the shop. We made a bit of a small talk and when I mentioned that we live in Germany he answered:
"Oh, yes, now I can hear your accident."
And there was this lady at Sainsburys. I bought a LOT of stuff to bring back to Germany, Porridge, Golden Sirup, Fruit Flakes and six bottles of our favorite BBQ Sauce.
"Oh, are they on offer?", she asked me.
No, was my answer, and I explained her why I had to buy so many of the bottles.
"My sister lives in Germany", she told me, "and it's horrible, they got NOTHING! They don't even have baked beans!!!" And she felt very sorry for me. Living in an 3rd world country ... ;)
